Apple Cinnamon Wontons. Crispy baked wontons filled with apples coated in cinnamon sugar and nutmeg. It's a delicious and fun dessert to make! These are also vegan.
What are Apple Cinnamon Wontons?
Apple Cinnamon Wontons are many of crispy wonton skins with a warm cinnamon nutmeg apple filling. They taste like mini apple pies and are perfect to make during Apple season! They are very addictive and great for all to enjoy, from kids to adults. This apple cinnamon wonton recipe is a fusion between Western and Asian cuisine. The filling is Western-inspired, while the wonton is often used in Asian cooking for making shrimp pork wontons.
Together they create these little pockets of joy, especially they are straight out of the oven. This quick and easy recipe is fun to make if you want to get the kids involved. I loved developing this recipe as it's out of the ordinary and forces me to get creative as a recipe developer.

How to make Apple Cinnamon Wontons
Finely Dice Apples
Slice your unpeeled apples into matchsticks and then finely dice them. This is important to ensure you can wrap the filling without breaking the wonton wrapper.
Create Apple Filling
Place the apple into a large mixing bowl. Add sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, cornstarch and mix well.
Fill Wontons
Place a heaping ½ tablespoon of the filling in the center of the wonton wrapper.
Moisten the Edges
Lightly wet the edges of your wrapper.
Pinch & Seal
Fold the wrapper into a triangle and seal the edges by pinching them together.
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F.
Transfer to a Baking Sheet & Brush with Milk
Place your wontons on a lined baking sheet. Lightly brush milk over your wontons.
Bake
Bake for 14-15 minutes until golden brown. No need to flip over.
Brush Oil to Create Shine
Optional: While the wontons are still hot, lightly brush some oil over top to make them look shiny.

How far in advance can you make these? Or are they better warm?
christieathome
They are better warm so I recommend consuming them same day if possible.
