    banana chocolate bread

Banana Chocolate Bread. This is the best Banana Chocolate Bread you'll ever make. It is dangerously moist, delicious and so chocolatey! Perfect as dessert. This loaf is dairy-free too!

This is probably the best chocolate chip banana bread! I always get compliments whenever I serve it because it's so decadent and soft. I almost ate half the loaf one time! Also, I share a video on how to make it.

I love this banana chocolate bread recipe. It contains bananas and whole wheat flour which are high in fiber and it's just delicious. You can naturally sweeten it with maple syrup but I used cane sugar as I had some in the house. So I guess you "could" call it a healthy banana chocolate bread or at least a healthier version of it.

This is my favourite dessert to make when I want to make something easy but doesn't require too many ingredients or kitchen tools! It's also fantastic for guests because it's so simple to make ahead of time and it's pretty fail-proof.

    For this recipe

You will need the following chocolate banana bread ingredients:

    • 1⁄2 cup coconut oil, room temperature
    • ½ cup cane sugar
    • 2 eggs, beaten
    • 4 bananas, finely mashed
    • 1 cup all-purpose flour
    • ½ cup whole wheat flour
    • 1 teaspoon baking soda
    • 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
    • 1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla
    • 1 cup chocolate chips

    Required: loaf pan

How to make the best Chocolate Banana Bread

    1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
    2. In a large mixing bowl, add mashed bananas, eggs, cane sugar, coconut oil, vanilla extract and mix well.
    3. Then into the same bowl, add salt, baking soda, whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour and mix well. Then mix in ½ cup of chocolate chips.
    4. Pour batter into a greased loaf pan. Sprinkle remaining chocolate chips over top. Bake for 60-65 minutes. Note. If you insert a wooden toothpick into the center, it will come out with chocolate and may look like it's not cooked but this is just the chocolate. If you do bake it any longer, the loaf will not be moist.
    5. Allow this to cool before serving.

    Tips for storing this dessert

    • The best is to store it in an air tight container in the fridge. This dessert will last 5-6 days!

    FAQ

What is the difference between banana bread and banana cake?

Banana bread is more denser than banana cake. Banana cake has a lighter fluffier cake like texture.

Is banana and chocolate a good combination?

Yes! The two ingredients compliment each other so well especially in baked goods.

What can I add to banana bread?

You can also add nuts or dried fruit like dried cranberries, blueberries or raisins to banana bread.

How do I make sure my banana bread is moist?

The trick to making sure your banana bread is moist is using overly ripened almost brown bananas. I also like to use oil versus butter to make it very moist.

Can I make banana bread vegan?

You can definitely substitute the eggs with flax eggs. Thanks to moisture from the bananas, this bread will stay very moist even if you don't use real eggs.

Can I make this banana bread gluten-free?

Yes, just substitute the flour with gluten-free flour like oat flour.

    Give it a try!

Thanks girl!!! Yes sometimes I can't handle too much sweetness and the chocolate chips already give it enough sweetness.
