    Chocolate Coffee Mug Cake

Chocolate Coffee Mug Cake. A very easy, simple, and delicious fluffy mug cake that only takes less than 10 minutes from start to finish. Perfect as a dessert for one!

Believe it or not, I never thought a chocolate coffee mug cake recipe could be delicious. Honestly. I'd see them in pictures and they all looked so flat, super wet like a overly moist brownie and just not like fluffy at all!

    Chocolate Coffee Mug Cake

But I promise you will NOT be disappointed with my chocolate coffee mug cake recipe. It is fluffy but also very moist. So much that when you cook it in the microwave, the cake is literally popping out as the heat penetrates the ingredients! It's very exciting to watch, trust me.

It's best to serve this cake 2 minutes after it's cooled down a bit so it's not piping hot as it burns your mouth. If you allow too much time to pass before consuming (1 hour or more), it'll become slightly dense. But who has the self control to wait 1 hour to eat this chocolate cake in a mug anyway?!

This is the best coffee mug chocolate cake I've ever made and I hope you give it a try! Don't forget to also check out my other related recipes below!

    For this recipe

You'll need the following ingredients for this Chocolate and Coffee Mug Cake:

    • 2 tbsp instant coffee
    • Two tbsp hot chocolate powder
    • 2 tbsp cane sugar
    • 1 egg
    • 2 tbsp flour
    • 2 tbsp oat milk
    • 1 tbsp avocado oil
    • Optional: Icing Sugar

How to make this coffee and chocolate mug cake

    1. In a microwave-safe mug, mix together all your ingredients except the icing sugar.
    2. Microwave for 2 minutes on high setting until you can see it popping out of the mug. Sprinkle icing sugar on top, optional. Enjoy while it's warm!

I'm using Organic Tradition's Mushroom Focus Fuel Coffee. ps. This is not sponsored by them. I just really enjoy their mushroom coffee as it definitely keeps me focused.

Can I Use any Mug in the microwave?

No. There are certain materials that cannot be used in the microwave. The best is to check the base of your mug and look to see if it's microwave safe. Usually heat-proof glass and microwave safe ceramics are safe. But any cookware that has speckles of reflective paint (gold, silver) are not. Just do your research first!

    Give it a try!

Well I hope you give my Chocolate Coffee Mug Cake recipe a try! It always excites me when you guys make my recipes and I hope this is one you try.

      Christie,

I'm drooling over the fluffiness of that mug cake and I always thought the same about the mug cakes as a moist, flat batter.

But yours look so gorgeously perfect. And that choice of the cup has only earned another star for this recipe.

Thanks so much Haseena! That's so kind. I appreciate this kind comment! I bought the ceramic mug from a local artisan who makes incredible pieces.
