I love sweet potato fries! They're slightly sweet, filling and absolutely delicious on their own. But when they are covered in sour cream, chopped kimchi and green onions, it is a total flavour explosion!
This kimchi fries recipe is really easy to make at home! You only need 6 ingredients and 45 minutes! Most of that time is spent baking these fries.
Can I use regular sour cream?
Yes! If you're not vegan, feel free to use regular sour cream for my Korean kimchi fries. I just wanted to share a vegan version for those who can't consume animal by products.
Can I use regular kimchi?
Yes! Even though I'm specifying to use vegan kimchi feel free to use non-vegan kimchi for this vegan kimchi fries recipe.
Where can I buy kimchi?
You can buy kimchi at most Asian grocers and even at some Western ones in the refrigerated area.
Vegan kimchi is more tricky to find but I love using the one by the brand called Pulmuone found at H-Mart.

For this recipe
You will need the following kimchi fries ingredients:
- 2 large sweet potatoes, sliced into thin fries
- 2-4 tbsp avocado oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ cup Kimchi, chopped
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 stalk green onions, finally chopped
How to make easy kimchi fries
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
Slice potatoes into thin fries.
Spread evenly over lined baking sheet. Drizzle oil, salt and garlic powder over top. Massage spices and oils with hands into fries.
Bake for 25-30 minutes until crispy.
Top with vegan sour cream, kimchi, and green onions. Serve immediately and enjoy.
