Matcha Panna Cotta. Creamy, soft, vegan and perfectly sweet. This dessert is so easy to make and will keep your guests coming back for more!

I love Panna Cotta. It is by far one of my favourite soft cream desserts! The matcha powder compliments this dessert so well and is great for all the matcha lovers out there.

Unlike other recipes that are made with gelatin, this matcha panna cottaΒ with agar agar.

I know that there are many matcha panna cotta recipes online but this one is REALLY EASY to make and contains pretty few ingredients for a luxurious dessert.

This matcha panna cotta recipe is also INCREDIBLY EASY! It only requires 5-ingredients and only 10 minutes to prepare.

It does take about 1 hour to set in the fridge but I'm telling you one of the easiest recipes on my website if you can wait for 2 hours.

I also wanted to point out that this dairy free matcha panna cotta is great for those who can't tolerate lactose either!

    For this recipe

You will need the following ingredients for the best matcha panna cotta

    Matcha Panna Cotta:
    1 cup coconut cream
    Β½ tsp agar agar powder
    β…› cup maple syrup
    Β½ tsp vanilla extract
    Β½ tsp matcha powder

    Coconut Jelly Layer (optional):
    β…“ cup coconut milk
    ΒΌ tsp agar agar powder

How to makeΒ matcha panna cotta

    Panna Cotta

    • In a small pot, whisk together coconut cream, agar agar powder, maple syrup, vanilla extract and matcha powder.
    • Whisk this until there are no more matcha clumps left.
    • Bring to a boil and remove off heat.
    • Pour into your mold on a flat surface. Do not touch it and let this set for 10 minutes at room temperature before moving to the fridge for another 20-30 minutes until it's firm to touch.

    Coconut Jelly Layer

    • In a small pot, whisk together your ingredients. Bring to a boil and remove off heat. Pour into your mold set on a flat surface. Do not touch it and let this set for 10 minutes at room temperature before moving to the fridge for another 20-30 minutes until it's firm to touch.
    • Carefully pop out your panna cotta and coconut jelly placing it over your panna cotta. Serve with fresh fruit.

Tips for making the best panna cotta

    • Before you even heat your ingredients, ALWAYS whisk your ingredients together thoroughly in the pot. This allows for the ingredients to combine well. When you heat it as your mix the ingredients this can cause for a clumpy like texture.
    • Once your bring your liquid to a boil, remove off the heat immediately. You do not want to over boil your panna cotta or it can cause the texture to be more tough. More boiling means more evaporation which equals less water to agar agar powder.
    • After pouring your liquid into a mold or cup, do not touch it. Allow it to rest for 30 minutes until it solidifies. If you move it, you'll cause for it to spill or create an uneven top layer.
    • To check if your panna cotta is ready, it should be firm to touch and firm around the edges. It shouldn't rip away from your mold, it should be a clean separation.
    • I recommend using silicone moulds as they are easier to pop out but if you don't have one, feel free to use a cup. The ones I used are linked below the recipe for purchase online.

I hope these tips are helpful when making my easy veganΒ matcha panna cotta!

    How do I store leftovers?

I'd recommend storing them in a glasslock container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
