    Cheese and Chive Pinwheels

Cheese and Chive Pinwheels. Cheesy pinwheels with a wonderful herb flavour. So delicious as a simple and easy snack idea. They only require 5 ingredients too!

These chive cheese pinwheels may not look pretty but they're full of flavour and are addictive to eat! My husband confessed that he ate half the plate and I'm not sure where the other half went.

These cream cheese chive pinwheels are delicious fresh out of the oven. They're slightly crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Filled with cheese, fresh chives and dill - perfect for all vegetarians and non-vegetarians.

My chive cheese pinwheel rolls would be great as an appetizer for a gathering as they're fairly simple to make and aren't too fussy. They are best served warm. So I'd suggest making these closer to when your guests arrive or perhaps keep them warm in the oven.

ingredients for Cheese and Chive Pinwheels

I know there are many chive cheese pinwheel recipes online but this one is really easy and only takes 5 ingredients! I also share a few other great snack recipes so don't forget to check them out below!

    Not pretty but so tasty!

Now I know that the final product for these pinwheel wraps aren't that pretty but let me tell you when you have these babies warm, they will make your eyes roll to the back of your head.

They are so delicious, easy to make and perfect as party food to make your guests happy.

Tips for making cream cheese roll ups

    • Don't overstuff your pinwheels as tempting as this seems! Just a thin layer is good enough
    • Use herb and garlic cream cheese! It's so much more flavourful.
    • Finely chop those herbs! This will ensure that they stay inside your pinwheels.
    • Roll your pinwheels with cream cheese very tightly!
    • Be patient when it comes to refrigerating them prior to baking. This will ensure they stay rolled up.

I hope these tips are helpful in making my easy pinwheels recipe!

    For this recipe

You will need the following ingredients for my cream cheese chive tortilla pinwheels:

    • 3 tortilla wraps
    • 1 bunch of fresh chives finely chopped
    • 1 bunch of fresh dill finely chopped
    • 227 grams of herb & garlic cream cheese at room temperature
    • 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese (opt for good quality cheese)

How to make Cheese and Chive Pinwheels

Prepare your ingredients as listed above.

Lay out your tortilla wrap on a round plate.

Evenly spread about 3-4 tbsps. of Herb & Garlic Cream Cheese on the wrap. Then sprinkle cheddar cheese, chopped chives and dill until the wrap is evenly coated.

    Cheese and Chive Pinwheels

Tightly roll up the wrap. It should be 2 inches in diameter. Any less than that and I would advise unwrapping the roll and spreading more cream cheese. Repeat the above steps until there is no more filling left - it should yield about 3 rolls.

Wrap the roll in cellophane plastic and store in fridge for 1 hour to set.

After one hour has passed, remove the rolls from your fridge and take off the plastic. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F.

On a chopping board, slice the rolls diagonally (they should be about ¾ of an inch thick). Lie the pinwheels flat on a well oiled baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes flipping them over at the 5 minute mark.

Remove from oven and serve as is. Enjoy your tortilla roll ups!
