    Hummus Avocado Tomato Toast

    Hummus Avocado Tomato Toast. Delicious, quick and easy to make as a snack or light meal. This recipe is vegan.

    This tomato hummus avocado toast one of my favourite ways to have toast. The spread of the hummus combined with the creamy avocado, tomatoes and fresh basil makes this a great combination.

    Is hummus toast healthy?

    Yes! It's a great easy snack or meal idea that is filling thanks to the avocado! It's also contains a fiber thanks to the chickpea hummus, tomatoes and avocado. So it's a very healthy toast idea.

    It's even more healthy if you make your own hummus and opt for whole grain bread.

    Hummus Avocado Tomato Toast

    Hummus is one of those delicious spreads that you can make yourself and I share a few recipes below on how to but since this is a super simple easy recipe, I'm going to list store bought hummus has the ingredient here. However if you want to make your own hummus, go ahead! It'll taste even better!

    For this recipe

    You'll need the following ingredients: 

    • 2 slices of rye bread
    • ⅓ cup of organic grape tomatoes sliced
    • 1 organic avocado sliced
    • 4 tablespoon of roasted red pepper hummus
    • 1 tablespoon of avocado oil
    • salt to taste
    • 2 tablespoon of fresh basil

    For this hummus toast recipe, I'm using a delicious Roasted Red Pepper Hummus from Pacific Foods.  It's so good and flavourful.  The packaging is also resealable and comes in a tetra pack that you can recycle.  Also, I'm using avocado oil by Chosen Foods along with some fresh organic produce.  This is such an easy recipe that there's no excuse to give it a go if you want to make it!  Takes less than 15 minutes to whip up.  

    How to make tomato hummus and avo toast

    1. Brush both slices of your bread with some avocado oil. In a flat pan set on medium heat, lay both slices into pan. Toast for 2 mins each side and remove.
    2. Spread hummus onto each piece of toast. Layer on the sliced avocados. Top off with tomatoes and fresh basil. Season with salt to taste. Enjoy!
