Garlic Butter Shrimp Udon (20-min. Recipe)

Garlic Butter Shrimp Udon. Buttery udon noodles swimming in a garlic chive butter sauce accompanied with bouncy chewy shrimps. Flavourful, indulgent, simple and totally delicious. This is a meal that comes together in 20 minutes and will truly hit the spot. This garlic udon noodles recipe only requires 7 ingredients.

  • 750 grams udon noodle frozen kind
  • 120 grams shrimp peeled and deveined, black tiger shrimp recommended
  • 8 cloves garlic peeled and thinly sliced
  • cup chives finely chopped
  • ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • ¼ tsp salt


  • In a large pot filled with water set over high heat, bring it a boil. Then carefully lower your frozen udon noodles to blanch. Once loosened, strain immediately in a colander and set aside.
  • In the same pot set over low heat, add olive oil. Once the oil is hot, add your thinly sliced garlic and fry just until fragrant.
  • Once the garlic is fragrant, quickly and carefully add in your peeled shrimp. Fry on both sides until pink and curled, about 3-4 minutes. Next add in your butter and let it melt. Mix everything together.
  • Lastly throw in your udon noodles and fresh chopped chives mixing everything together. Once mixed, remove off heat immediately and serve.
