Chinese Spicy Sour Potatoes (30-min. Recipe)
Chinese Spicy Sour Potatoes. A delicious shredded potato dish with a spicy, salty, vinegar flavour. It's easy to make and great as a side dish. This easy recipe only takes 30 minutes to make
- 4 russet potatoes peeled and cut into thin matchsticks
- 1 red chilli sliced (omit if you prefer no spice)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- ½ tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp garlic minced
- 4 tsp vinegar
- 1 tbsp avocado oil
- ⅓ cup green onions sliced into 1 inch pieces
Slice your peeled yellow potatoes into thin shreds. Try to ensure they are of equal size. Soak the shred in cold water for a couple of minutes and strain.
In a large non-stick pan set over high heat, add avocado oil, garlic, and red chilli. Be prepared for a coughing fit as the chillies are spicy!
Add shredded potatoes and mix in with the aromatics.
Season with salt, soy sauce, sugar, and sesame oil. Mix well. Cook for 8 minutes.
Finally add in green onions and vinegar. Mix again and serve.
