Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoon condensed milk

Boba's:

  • ½ cup bobas boiled
  • 2 tablespoon brown sugar or maple syrup
  • 1 liter hot boiling water

Earl Grey Milk Tea:

  • 4 cups water
  • 5 teaspoon loose leaf Earl Grey tea
  • ¼ cup evaporated milk or Cashew Milk Powder liquid if vegan or dairy-free

Dairy-free or Vegan Milk Option:

  • 3 tablespoon cashew milk powder
  • 3 tablespoon water

For a cold version:

  • ice cubes (optional)

Instructions

  • In a small pot with 1 liter of water, bring it to a boil. Add your bobas and boil according to packet instructions. (If your bobas did not come with packet instructions, I boiled mine for 25 minutes over medium heat uncovered. Then allowing it to rest off heat for 20 minutes, covered).
  • Rinse your cooked bobas in cold running water. Strain and transfer to a small bowl. Flavour your bobas with maple syrup or brown sugar. Set aside.
  • In a small pot, add 4 cups of water and earl grey tea leaves in a tea strainer. Bring to a boil and allow this to simmer for 10 minutes until the liquid is dark brown. Remove the tea leaves.
  • Add ¼ cup of evaporated milk (or cashew milk power liquid if vegan or dairy-free) to the tea. Stir into the earl grey tea.
  • Then in two tall glasses, divide your cooked bobas and place them in the base of the glass, followed by 2 tablespoon condensed milk per glass.
  • Lastly pour the earl grey milk tea over your condensed milk. Stir and enjoy warm! To serve cold, add ice cubes to the glass before adding the tea.
