Make this easy air-fryer teriyaki salmon recipe when you need a 30-minute weeknight main. The fish flakes easily, offering a juicy and tender bite. It delivers a deeply savory glaze with hints of sweet garlic.
Combine the listed sauce ingredients in a small saucepan over medium-high heat. Stir constantly until the sugar dissolves completely. Bring the mixture to a rolling boil. Reduce heat slightly and simmer until the liquid thickens into a glossy glaze.
Pour the thickened glaze into a wide, shallow container uncovered. Place the container in the freezer for 5 minutes until it cools slightly. Do not add hot glaze to raw fish.
Submerge the salmon filets completely in the cooled teriyaki glaze. Marinate at room temperature for 15 minutes to let the flavors penetrate the flesh.
Place the marinated filets skin-side down in a single layer inside the air fryer basket. Leave space between each piece to allow optimal air circulation. Brush an extra layer of glaze over the top of each filet.
Air fry at 400°F for 6 to 8 minutes. Insert a digital meat thermometer into the thickest part of the fish. Remove the salmon immediately once the internal temperature registers 145°F.
Transfer the cooked fish to a plate. Top with chopped green onions and toasted sesame seeds. Boil any remaining marinade in a clean pan for 1 minute before drizzling it over the final dish.
