Golden pan-fried tofu is coated in a sweet and spicy gochujang sauce. This easy gochujang tofu recipe is ready in just 30 minutes. The tofu stays firm and tender inside while the thick, savory-sweet sauce clings to every piece.
Remove the tofu from the package and drain the liquid. Pat the block thoroughly dry with paper towels to remove as much surface moisture as possible.
Cut the tofu into uniform ½-inch-thick rectangles. Set aside.
In a small bowl, combine all the gochujang sauce ingredients and whisk until smooth. Set aside.
Heat the vegetable oil in a 12-inch pan over medium heat. Arrange the tofu in a single layer without overlapping. Fry for 5-7 minutes per side, until golden brown.
Pour the sauce over the tofu and simmer for about 30 seconds, until thick and glossy. Gently toss until the tofu is evenly coated.
Remove from the heat and garnish with green onions. Serve hot.
