Tender tofu coated in a delicious sweet and sticky sauce made with simple ingredients! This quick and easy sweet and sticky tofu is ready in 30 minutes. A great main dish for dinner or lunch for the family!
Slice extra-firm tofu into long rectangular pieces, about 2-inches long and 1-inch thick. Pat them dry with a paper towel to remove as much excess moisture as possible.
In a small bowl, whisk together 3 tablespoon of cornstarch (reserving 1 tablespoon for later) and salt. Evenly coat tofu pieces in the cornstarch mixture ensuring no bald spots for a crispier tofu.
In a small bowl, combine regular soy sauce, ketchup, honey, cold water and 1 tablespoon cornstarch until well combined. Set aside.
Heat vegetable oil in a large non-stick pan set on medium heat. Pan-fry tofu until crispy and golden brown on all sides, about 12-15 minutes in total.
Reduce to low heat and pour in sauce. Let it thicken and then gently toss with tofu. Once each tofu piece is coated in the thickened sauce, remove and transfer to a serving plate.
Garnish tofu with sesame seeds. Enjoy!
