Asian Breaded Tofu Nuggets (30-min. Recipe)
Asian Breaded Tofu Nuggets. Crispy panko breaded tofu bites that are so delicious, easy to make and serve as a great vegetarian side dish. This simple dish comes together in 30 mins or less! It pairs deliciously with some katsu sauce
Slice your tofu into cubes. Pat dry each piece on both sides with paper towel. This is important or your coating will fall off.
Season tofu cubes with a sprinkle of salt and garlic powder on both sides.
Coat tofu cubes into corn starch, then whisked egg, and lastly panko breadcrumbs. Make sure to coat all sides.
In a pan set over medium heat, add oil. Allow this to heat up. To test if it’s hot enough, place a wooden chopstick into the oil and if bubbles form then it’s ready for frying.
Fry on each side until golden brown, about 3 minutes. Enjoy with Tonkatsu sauce
