Jump to:
This strawberry matcha latte features sweet puréed strawberries combined with the grassy notes of matcha, creamy milk and ice cubes. It's a delicious and stunning way to enjoy this fruit, especially with the green, white and red colors!
When it's strawberry season, I love to make this chilled drink to elevate my classic matcha latte! It's refreshing and perfect for the hot summer. Also, it's a fantastic iced beverage to make to impress guests or friends!

The sweet strawberries and the creamy milk perfectly balance out the earthy taste of the matcha. It's truly a matcha-made in heaven!
This drink can also be made dairy-free by simply substituting with a plant-based milk that you enjoy, such as oat milk or a nut milk.
The best part is that this cold refreshing drink requires only 6-simple ingredients saving you a good $7-8 if you were to buy this popular latte at a bubble tea shop, like at Boba Guys!
Ingredients & Substitutes
Please scroll down to below recipe card for exact measurements.

- Fresh Ripe Strawberries: make sure to use vibrant red strawberries that are sweet smelling. These will give you the best tasting latte. It's best to shop for strawberries during strawberry season which is between May to October. You may also substitute with frozen strawberries as a last resort.
 - Matcha Powder: I recommend using Ceremonial matcha powder for best quality but this type of matcha powder is the priciest. If you're shopping for matcha powder, please note that Culinary matcha is the most affordable but lowest in quality giving it a more brownish-green color and is mainly used for baking but it can be used. Or spend a bit more money and get Everyday matcha powder, which works well this recipe and will give you a more vibrant green matcha powder.
 - Milk: or substitute with a dairy-free milk of your choice like oat milk, almond milk or any nut milk. Avoid using soy milk as it has a stronger taste unless you prefer that.
 - White Granulated Sugar: or substitute with honey or maple syrup for a natural sweetened version.
 - Ice cubes
 - Water: to dilute the matcha powder and make it frothy.

Expert Tips
- Use fresh ripe, sweet smelling strawberries for best taste!
 - Use good quality matcha powder that you enjoy! I recommend using Ceremonial matcha powder for the best quality and taste.
 - Chop the strawberries into quarters or even smaller pieces before crushing. This helps you crush the berries into a purée.
 - Make sure the strawberries are well crushed, so you’re not drinking chunks.
 - Use a blender or food processor for extra smooth strawberry purée.
 - For an evenly dissolved matcha liquid, sift the matcha powder before whisking.
 - Use a matcha whisk, regular whisk, or an electric whisk to make the matcha liquid extra frothy. Do not skip this step!

Storage
- This latte is best consumed immediately or same day.
 - Leftover latte can last up to 2 days stored in an airtight container or a sealed jar in the fridge.
 - Freezer-friendly? I don't recommend freezing strawberry matcha latte as the strawberries will change in texture.

Hi, is this recipe supposed to yield 12oz or 16oz? I think I have the same glass as yours in the photos and I have a 1.5in gap from the top, even with ice. Also, can you share which matcha and plant milk brand you use? Please let me know! Thank you!
Otherwise, this recipe helped me make my first strawberry matcha latte! This is going to save me $20 every week! Thank you.

Hello! This yields a 16oz glass. I am using matcha by the brand Soar Organics, I prefer their Uji Ceremonial grade matcha. As for the milk, I'm using plain almond milk by Silk. I hope you enjoy it, Joyce!
